Summary: This paper assesses the habitat expansion of introduced trout species (Salmo trutta and Oncorhynchus mykiss) in the Himalayas and their potential impact on native fish diversity. Using the MaxEnt model with presence-only data and environmental layers, the study identified key drivers of habitat expansion, including precipitation of the driest quarter (Bio_17) and coldest quarter (Bio_19). The model achieved high accuracy (AUC: 0.919 for S. trutta, 0.881 for O. mykiss), highlighting the role of environmental variables in trout invasion and its ecological implications for Himalayan streams.
